The Armed Forces History Museum is proud to be hosting the Kick-Off Event for the UNITED VETERANS ASSISTANCE SERVICES, Inc. (UVAS).   The evening includes free cocktails, food and live entertainment.  Various items will also be raffled off that evening.  The main raffle prize is a 1952 Korean War Era Jeep.  The jeep is street worthy and comes with machine gun (inoperable).  The Jeep drawing will be held at the Odessa Rodeo on Oct. 28th, 2012.

UVAS is a Non-Profit Organization and has established corporate operations in the Tampa Bay Area.  The purpose of UVAS is to assist qualified Veterans with the renovation and restoration (R&R) of their homes to meet their individual needs.  The renovations and restorations include such areas as Bathrooms, Kitchens, Elevators, Ramps and exterior work.  In this manner, UVAS can provide assistance to many Veterans rather than providing a new home for a single individual.   Their goal is to make this a nation-wide program.

For more information on UVAS, including other upcoming events, you can download a PDF version of their brochure using the link below.
