o fly during WWII. The only problem with the B-17 Bomber was its lack of range. Later in the war the Bomber were given long range flying escorts to help protect the planes during their many bombing runs. The plane was produced by Boeing and could carry up to 10 crew members. In most cases the crew was made up of the pilot, co-pilot, Engineer, Bombardier, Radioman and 5 gunners.
